No Butts About the Emsella Chair

I was very surprised to get so many questions from you guys about the Emsella Chair which I used throughout December last year at The Mayfair Practice. This said, we don’t talk enough about women’s issues in the pelvic area and how annoying a weak pelvic muscle can be in our daily life routine.

what is an Emsella Chair?

The Emsella chair is an electromagnetic device that strengthens the pelvic floor muscles. We women all know how difficult it is to strengthen this muscle with normal exercise and when I heard about this chair I was more than curious to try it out.

I can hold it much longer when I have the urge to go to the bathroom.

how does it work?

Six treatments are recommended total, starting with once per week for 28-mins in order to achieve maximum results. This device is ideal for any woman who suffers from incontinence, just had a baby, and who wants to strengthen their pelvic floor again (ideal also to do before getting pregnant) or you just want to do it as a prevention before your body goes through menopause. I mainly did it as a prevention as I luckily do not suffer from incontinence but I seriously want to avoid having this problem in the future. So many women suffer from this and it seriously takes your quality of life to the basement.

The treatment itself is totally unevasive and done pretty quickly. You need to sit on the chair very precisely and feel the electromagnetic charges targeting inside your pelvis. It takes a few seconds to figure out if you have hit the right spot. No need to get undressed but you can not have anything metallic on you.

We are not talking about a relaxing spa treatment here but it really doesn’t hurt in any way nor is it very unpleasant. The aim is to get to 100% maximum frequency which I could do after 3 sessions. You start gradually and you decide which strength you can tolerate. You do need to do it once a week for 6 weeks though in order to achieve noticeable results.

So you are going to ask, how do I know it worked if I didn’t have any issues ?

the verdict

I do think that it is an amazing treatment for incontinence prevention and I can very much feel that my pelvic muscle became stronger. It’s not a muscle that I could easily exercise myself or even feel before. But like with any sport, if you start working on muscles that you never did before, you suddenly realise they exist. I also realised that I can hold it much longer when I have the urge to go to the bathroom.

So ladies, it’s just another way of taking care of yourself and improve your well-being, especially for those who do suffer from a weak pelvic floor muscle. I would recommend it to anyone frankly as much as you go to the gym.

Downside ? Apart from sitting still for 28-mins without your iPhone (which is a good thing!)… but I’m addicted to my phone soooo, that was tough.

Please check out my events page where we will host an afternoon event at The Mayfair Practice on January 30th. You will be able to try the chair as well.
