why i’m hooked on sulwhasoo
Sulwhasoo is one of the utmost cosmetic brands in South Korea and their spa is (seriously) like a visit to heaven. In my recent trips to Seoul, I had already tried a facial there but this time I chose the Jade and Brightening 90-min facial. As we all know, it is an Asian trend to have very clear and white skin so I thought that must be the place !
You start by sitting down to fill out a health form and sipping on cold ginseng tea while being mesmerised by the ambiance and architecture of the place.

the sensory experience
The treatment rooms are all spacious and beautiful. After changing into a fluffy bathrobe you are seated to soak your feet in a relaxing ginseng foot-bath.
Then the treatment starts on the most comfortable bed with cosy duvets and beautiful music.
The entire facial is done with the whitening line starting with two cleanses, a scrub, followed by the most amazing massage with a whitening serum and other products added on top. Suwhalsoo is all about layering their products...
While those products set in, you get a head massage and your scalp is gently brushed with a special wooden comb... paradise!

When the mask is washed off, all the different products are massaged into your face with jade stones starting from brightening serum to anti dark spot cream, day cream and SPF.
Tea is served again at the end but this time it is hot and you get a brochure with all the products that were used. If you wish, there are two beautiful rooms where you can try out their make up line. When you buy a product you get tons of samples so it’s worthwhile buying something small like the lip balm (which is the best that I’ve ever used!). I also bought their brightening sheet masks which I absolutely love.
the people
It goes without saying that the kindness and luxury service of the staff is impeccable. They really know their stuff and I saw a real effect on my skin feeling brighter and hydrated. It’s a pure luxe treat and you don’t pay more then a fairly good facial in London.
