Sleep in Style
I so often get asked on Instagram about where to stay in the Algarve. Having a hotel management background and being an interior designer, I’m always very picky when it comes to my hotel choices. If I didn’t live in this incredible paradise, I would 100% stay at these places when on holiday.
THE GRAND HOUSE
Let's start in Vila Real de Santo Antonio. Situated close to the Spanish border, it's a lovely and pretty little city with waterfront walks and a port.
The Grand House (Relais & Château) is absolutely stunning in terms of interior design, and has such a colonial vibe! Every decor details is thought through and I love all the striped fabrics, grouped vases and unique objects. It's certainly got one of the prettiest boutique-hotel vibes in the Algarve.
3HB FARO
Perfect for a long weekend in the Algarve, especially for a couple getaway. Five minutes away from the airport and just a short walk away from the beach, this recently opened hotel is in the centre of Faro and absolutely stunning!
Modern design, very classy interiors, comfortable rooms and a beautiful rooftop pool, what more could you ask for? The poolside restaurant is perfect for lunch or drinks. They feature a beautiful art piece by Vannessa Barragao whom I’m a big fan of, so don’t miss out.
VILA VITA PARC
It's by far the most luxurious resort in the Algarve, near Porches. It has a real “hotelier” feel, where service is really not going to disappoint you. It's also known for its famous Michelin Star restaurant Ocean and amazing luxury Spa.
Vila Vita is definitely where I would spend a week of vacation, especially as it offers so much variety! Three beach restaurants, several in house dining places, beautiful shops and lots of pampering.... You just can’t go wrong here.
LAGOS AVENIDA HOTEL
I love Lagos, which is a bit further out but a beautiful little town with amazing beaches and a buzzing marina. The hotel is situated just in front of the port and I just love the interior design!
It has pretty summer vibes and perfectly fits into the Algarve atmosphere. White linen sofas, lots of beach wood, baskets and comfortable rooms. The Avenida restaurant is also stunning and offers a very tasty menu. Its more of an adult hotel so this wouldn’t be my first choice with young children.
THE CONRAD
I wouldn’t pick the Conrad for its incredible interior design because it's nothing out of this world. It has a bit of a Dubai vibe but it’s smack in the middle of Quinta do Lago next to all the amazing golf courses.
I must say (having stayed here many times) that the rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms functional, the bedding is amazing and the rooms have comfortable terraces. I also love the pool here which is always calm and very pretty. It’s one of the good ones!
VILALARA
I have stayed at Vilalara just opposite Vilavita resort and really liked the bright spacious rooms. Very cosy beds and a calm resort atmosphere, the views are stunning and the beach is beautiful.
Vilalara has one of the best spas in the Algarve and is known for its high quality medical treatments and detox cures. A very pleasant vibe with luxurious decor.
