The Deal on Skin Devices
We have devices to help us do everything in our lives.
From our phones to our backscratchers, how did we ever live without them? I’m here to talk to you today about the devices I’ve found in the beauty market today, and what works for me. I have been asked a lot lately about my skincare routine, and these devices are a big part of it.
Taking care of my skin and using the right products is very important for me. It takes a bit of extra time but let me tell you, the results speak for themselves. It’s so worth it!
Roll & Renew
One of my favourite devices is my Home Microneedling Kit from Oliviere Wilson. It is a microneedle skinroller that I use twice per week and by far the best I have tried. Might sound a little scary, but let me walk you through it.
Using this roller helps to facilitate the natural exfoliation of my skin while improving the absorption of skin products. It also helps reduce those annoying fine lines and wrinkles that we all worry about. They also have a cool body roller, which I have yet to try, (but obviously seeing as I love skincare devices) it is in the mail and I will report back how I liked it.
It’s a really fun gift to get a girlfriend I find. The packaging is beautiful and it is unexpected - it’s also such a good tool so your friends will love you for it.
I always use this at night after having applied one of my exfoliation masks (you can find the info about my masks and peels under Dark Spots) and then I apply my Hyaluronic Marine Serum from Dr Denis Gross followed by my Overnight Facial from Sarah Chapman.
A good night sleep and in the morning your skin looks just so fresh and bright.
**Be careful to sanitise your roller after each usage to avoid bacteria build up. You can use the sanitising water by Oliviere Wilson or buy a bottle of alcohol at the pharmacy which works as well**
Depuff & Stimulate
The Jade Roller is a device that I use every day because I find it very cooling and it helps my serum penetrate deeper into my skin. I only use it with serums as I find with creams it can get a bit messy. It really helps reduce inflammation and stimulates the lymphatic system.
It’s also very pretty and they exist in rose quartz as well- so that’s a plus!
Lights on
I purchased the MZ Skin Light-Therapy Golden Facial Treatment Device before the Summer and had done lots of research before ordering it as it’s quite an investment (over £300). I used to do light therapy facials and really loved it so I thought why not try doing it on a regular basis.
It has Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White light. It stimulates collagen and elastin, and balances and clarifies blemished skin. It also reduces pigmentation, redness and helps skin repair. This mask is pretty efficient at targeting all of our problem areas!
The mask is very easy to use and the instructions say to use it for 20-mins at a time, four times per week. It’s important to cleanse your skin first and I use one of my favourites, the Cleanse and Clarify by MZSkin. It is a bit of a time consuming process, I’ll give you that, so I usually do this ritual at night. I like to see it as “me time”, and give myself 20-mins before going to sleep, listening to a podcast or meditation music. I’m all about self-care and trying to fit in a little every day.
Flow & Glow
I absolutely love the facial lift massager from Sarah Chapman ! It’s another device that I use at home on a regular basis and mostly in the morning to depuff my face. It releases muscular tension, particularly in the jaw, and encourages blood flow. This brings a glow to the skin and helps decrease puffiness through lymphatic drainage. Using this with my day cream works best and really gets the blood flow activated in the morning.
Thanks for reading my blog on skincare devices! I really find that it makes such a difference to my skincare routine. If you have any questions or comments, please email me just send me a DM on my Instagram account Sarah Nicollier.
